There is a force that moves every artist to create something with the materials available to them. Musicians arrange the seven notes of a musical scale into melodies and progressions just like painters use the seven colors of the color wheel to represent the variety of hues we see every day. Without an artists creativity becoming awakened by a glimpse of something new, these materials remain inactive, lifeless sets of notes and colors.
